TNC Quick Update - August 2021

Greetings everyone,

August has been busy with edits. We've sped up the process and now have the lore book done. The rulebook will be completed soon as well.  That means we can finally get to the layout and design. 🤩 We'll send another update in a few weeks to let you know how things are going.

Breaking Out of Limbo

Hello,

Just popping in to give a quick update. Our editor had a huge health scare that put them out of commission for a bit. Thankfully, they are home now. Editing will continue and we're starting to send files to our graphics designer. Jason is going to start work on the Discord server this week as well.

Everyone's patience has been greatly appreciated! We know the production pace has been slower than intended — some of that is on the two of us and some of that is due to forces outside of our control. No matter what though, we are doing our best and will work hard to deliver on our promise to ya'll. ❤

Countdown to Layout

It's almost here! The editing process is nearing the end, which means we'll soon be moving on to the next step: layout and design. This is where our ttrpg's personality gets to really shine. Jason and I are very excited to be getting close to this point. 

As we get closer to release, we plan to open up a Discord server for The Nuadan Chronicles.  We are both very active in other Discord communities and believe this will be the best way to stay connected with you all.

We are also planning to do a website overhaul so we can get the online store and other features up and running.

Some progress updates:

• A few details are being finalized with the maps to make sure everything is accurate.
• The GM screen is finished and we'll be sending it in for a prototype at a local bindery.

We'd like to do an AMA video to answer any burning questions you have about the game so far. It can be anything — character creation, combat, worldbuilding, etc. Leave them below in the comments or send us a DM on our social media pages.

We hope you are holding up okay. Jason and I are doing our best to stay active and take care of ourselves.

Timelines and Editing

Happy April!

We recently received a question about the timeline regarding the two PDFs for the game. To reiterate, the PDFs will be sent out to everyone who ordered copies as soon as the layouts are ready to be submitted to the printer. 🤗 

When exactly is that? We're not certain. At this point, we don't want to give a hard date and disappoint anyone. However, we are working hard to get everything to the graphic design stage. Life has been hellish for our editor, and Jason and I are trying to balance working full-time with finalizing all the details. 

That being said,  the fully detailed map of Uldris (which has taken nearly a year to complete) is almost finished. Each of the nine province maps will be in the Uldris book. We plan to have the full map up on our website so that you can digitally zoom in on places. The amount of detail that @justasummerjob put into the maps is amazing! (The map below is screenshotted and watermarked so the quality isn't going to be as good.)

Plus, we have been able to squeeze in a few extra art pieces for some creatures and the end-book adventure. Here's one of them: the Sarassin! These arachnids of unusual size prefer to live in cooperative groups to raise young and share resources. Some live in webbed colonies while others roam about in packs.

It's an actual-play live stream on Twitch featuring an original adventure set in The Nuadan Chronicles. We feel like it's a great preview of the world of Nuada and the cast of players has done a fantastic job so far.

BackerKit Is Reopened

Quick update as promised based on last week's message, BackerKit has been reopened. If you want to add something to your order like the special Nuadan dice or you have a friend who wanted to order, now they have a chance for the next several weeks.
