Latest Updates from Our Project:

We've Got DICE!!! *whispers* and they are glorious...
over 3 years ago – Fri, Oct 23, 2020 at 11:14:47 AM

They're finally here! The first official dice for The Nuadan Chronicles! If you haven't yet, you can add them to your pledge (if you are international, you will need to order a physical copy of one or both books).

Over on our YouTube channel, we've posted the unboxing and talk a little bit more about their features.

Many thanks to Allie and Q Workshop! Allie designed all of our logos, national symbols, and the dice design. The Q Workshop crew did a great job and we had a good experience working with them to get all 150 dice sets made.

In the next several days, we'll be posting about shipping prices. So stay tuned!

BackerKit Closes October 31st, Plus More News 📰
over 3 years ago – Tue, Oct 06, 2020 at 02:32:29 AM

Happy October! 👻 We just realized it's been a year since our Kickstarter launch. Lots of things have happened since then with The Nuadan Chronicles and it's only going to get more intense from here.

  • First things first, we will be closing pre-orders on BackerKit on October 31st. As mentioned during the campaign, we will be placing shipping charges for each backer in their checkout list for physical items. More on that in the next update.
  • The lore book is finished and we'll be doing a final pass through our beta reader edits before handing it to an editor. The rulebook is in the final stages and we're in talks with an editor for it as well.
  • The custom dice are on their way here! We'll post pictures when they arrive. You can still add them to your pre-order, just make sure to do so by the end of the month (if you are outside the U.S. you'll need to order one or both books).

Thank you for everyone's patience. We know it's been a rough year. For us, we've missed going to cons and playing tabletop games in-person with friends. There's been a good deal of anxiety and depression in our own lives, but we're pushing through.

We'll need to move the timeline back to early 2021. It's not what we want, but it will probably work out for the best considering how hectic the winter holiday season can get for many people. We will distribute digital items (books, art, music) as soon as the books go to print.

In the meantime, Jason and I want to keep you updated as much as possible. If you have any questions about the game, the world, or the development process, leave a question down in the comments. If we get enough, we might do a video response (our cats will probably make a special appearance 😺).

That's it for now. If you follow us on Twitter, we're doing Merathi vocabulary for #Inktober2020 and doing weekly character profiles.

Stay safe! ❤

Blood of the Sea - Outcomes
over 3 years ago – Sat, Sep 05, 2020 at 01:06:48 AM

Waaaay back last year when our Kickstarter released we featured a Quickstart Guide (if you consider 100 pages "quick" 😅). Part of that guide included a short mission called Blood of the Sea

One of the things we want to do with The Nuadan Chronicles is to allow players to influence the world of Nuada via mission outcomes. Many thanks to everyone who played through Blood of the Sea and submitted their results!

Here is what happened after the mission ended and how it impacts the world going forward:

  • Merathi military intelligence is aware of the advanced submarine Uldris was trying to build but since it was destroyed they will be forced to pick through the wreckage to understand how it works. Uldrisi naval commanders can breathe a sigh of relief... for now.
  • The data and schematics from the naval base were successfully turned over to the wardens. These can be used to rebuild an improved version of the submarine elsewhere in Uldris.
  • However, the retired warden Ailis, who assisted in the retrieval of the plans, sent a copy to his Merathi contacts. He continues to spy for the enemy, building a network within the province of Oesanju.
  • Underwater techno-archaeologist Jaera survived the ordeal and insists on studying the jengu. To buy her silence, the wardens grant her strict permission under the agreement that she deliver all discoveries to them.
  • The jengu have the storm sphere that was locked in the vault. The loss of the sphere and news of the strange creatures is disquieting, but there is little that can be done about it. The matter is filed away and forgotten as the war rages on.
  • Enough proof is recovered regarding the existence of the jengu that Uldrisi wardens must take the news seriously. Unsure what to do with such a revelation, the wardens swear the guild members who fought them to secrecy.

There will be a short story based on the mission as well. We've done this for previous playtest missions like The Tower in the Woods and The Haunted Forest. The former will be included in the rulebook and the latter will be posted on our website.

Beta Reading Frenzy 🤯
over 3 years ago – Thu, Jul 30, 2020 at 03:45:02 AM

Our beta readers are off to the races! We have several lovely people helping read through the lore right now to give feedback and proofread. We plan to do the same for the rulebook soon.

Seuma continues to polish the chronicle and keep up-to-date on the state of Nuada via newspapers and mysterious telegrams.

Other game improvements include:

  • Expanded lore for the territory of Imakesh
  • Added more Magic and Tech Talents
  • Balanced Armor

If you have any questions about the game that you would like to know more about (fae, weapons, short stories, etc.), let us know in the comments and we can make that a future update topic!

Make sure to follow our social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. We plan to do some of our iconic character's profiles to show their builds and background lore.

State of the Game - July 2020
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Jul 22, 2020 at 04:54:47 PM

Good morning/afternoon/evening from Brooke and Jason!

Here's where we stand right now with The Nuadan Chronicles RPG:

  • Expanded lore is nearly complete.
  • More social Talents added.
  • Simplified mechanics for things like healing and tech-based weapons.
  • Started tested interior layout and style for the books.
  • Recruiting beta readers for both the rulebook and lore book before sending to an editor.
  • Detailed province maps for Uldris are 75% complete.
  • Revising intro campaign story at the end of the rulebook to be more awesome!

There has been a lot of polish we've been able to bring to the game over the last few months. In the coming weeks, Jason and I will be working feverishly to get it ready for an editor and final layout. To do this, we're pushing back the publish date to December of this year.

Because we are doing this, pre-orders on the Backerkit store will remain open. All pre-orders done on BackerKit haven't been locked in or charged yet. We think this is for the best because we don't want to charge people yet with money being so tight for many. More information on fulfillment will be made next month, especially with how shipping is being affected by the global pandemic.

We want to start doing weekly updates from now on to keep you informed and to keep us accountable. Next week's update will feature the results of the Blood of the Sea quickstart guide adventure!
